Bands
One of the highlights of the games, and a major draw for visitors are the Pipe and Drum bands.The bands start at the bottom of the village, working their way to the square at 12pm and up to the Public Park for 1pm.
Each year, Tomintoul invites multiple bands who take turns to play throughout the afternoon in the public park. To prove their skills, the Drum Majors compete with one another to throw their maces over a banner - all in perfect time to the marching music! This is an uncommon treat to watch and cheer on.
